Paper Bow Tutorial

Good morning!
I had a lot of requests for a tutorial on how to make the bow that I created for this card:
The bow is really simple to create.  Here are the instructions:
Supplies needed:
Card Stock or DSP of your choice
Big Shot
Ovals Collection Framelits
Stampin' Trimmer
Paper Snips
Glue Dots
SNAIL
Bone Folder
Button or Large Brad of your choice to embellish the center
1/2" Circle Punch
Bakers Twine (optional)
Embossing folder (optional)

To begin- cut out 2 of each oval.  I used the 2 smallest framelits from the Ovals Collection Framelits.
Cut 2 card stock or dsp strips.  One measures 4 1/4" x 7/8" and the other measures 3 3/4" x 5/8"
If you are using card stock and want to emboss your bow- now is the time to do that.
Next- trim the ends of the card stock strips so they look like a pennant (this forms the bow tails).
Using the bone folder- gently curl each oval.
After each oval has been curled- gently fold each oval in half and secure with a Glue Dot.  Your ovals will now look like the ones pictured below:
Using the 1/2" Circle Punch- punch a circle.  Cover the circle in Glue Dots.  Take the 2 largest folded ovals and adhere them to the circle as shown below.
Apply glue dots on the bottom edge of the smallest 2 folded ovals and layer them onto the tops of the large ovals to finish forming the bow.
Layer the smallest banner on top of the large banner and adhere with SNAIL
Using Glue Dots, adhere the bow to the center of the banner.
Finish off the bow by adhering a button or large brad to the center with Glue Dots.
That's all there is to it!  Easy peasy!  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bow to my card but you can also use Glue Dots.

Wanna change it up a little bit?  You can adjust the size of your bow by changing the size Oval Framelits.  You will also need to widen your tails depending on the size of your ovals.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Sunday!

Am I dreaming?

Good morning!
I have some wonderful news to share with you all today!  As many of you know- I participated in the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team contest.  For this contest- entrants were asked to submit 5 full cards, 3 scrapbook pages and 2 3-dimensional projects.  This contest was a HUGE undertaking for me.  I had a lot of trying moments creating my submissions but in the end it was all worth it.  Yesterday afternoon at 2:48pm eastern time I got a phone call from Amy at the Stampin' Up! offices.  I AM A FINALIST!!!!!  I am so very happy and never in a million years did I think that I would be in the top 20 but here I am!  Can someone pinch me please because I must be dreaming!

In between the nerve wracking wait for a phone call and the tears after I actually received a phone call- I was able to create this beautiful card to share with you.  I used to Ovals Collection Framelits to make the bow.  I will create a tutorial for the bow on Sunday.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Wonderfall!

Good morning!
Today I decided to change things up a little bit and create a card for the upcoming Fall season.  Yes- I realize it's early and NO I definitely am in no hurry for it to get here.  But I do absolutely adore the Wonderfall stamp set and the coordinating Autumn Accents Bigz die.  They are 2 of my favorite products!
Have a great Thursday!

Thanks for Tuesday!

Good Morning!
Thankfully Monday is over.  I spent the majority of the day cleaning and trying to reorganize my bedroom.  I always thought that having a huge bedroom was a good thing.  Let me be the first to say that it is not.  We as a family have acquired so much extra stuff (or junk...whatever you wanna call it) that I don't know what to do with.  Now that I have all the extra stuff picked up and put away I'm tempted to move my stamp room into my bedroom.  Not sure my hubby will go for that one though.  A girl can dream, right?

The card I have to share with you today is one that I made for a monthly swap that I joined.  I love the layout and have been using it quite a bit lately!  I think it came out cute!  In fact- I liked it so much that I've decided it will be my customer "thank-you" card for July!  Will you be the next to receive one?

It's hard to see in the picture but the Daffodil Delight card stock pennant is embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder and the edge of the stamped image is sponged with Daffodil Delight Ink.
Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
DSP:  Gingham Garden
Stamps:  Bright Blossoms, Fabulous Phrases
Inks:  Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight

Some like it HOT

Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I'm sure you've probably already noticed that I haven't posted for the past 2 days.  Fortunately the weather here has been beautiful so I took the opportunity to do some yard work and work in my flower beds.  I also fixed the weed trimmer all by myself!  I must say- I really do love to take things apart and put them back together again.  The weed trimmer needed new fuel lines so I figured it would be easier to change the entire fuel tank as opposed to just the fuel lines.  I was right!  Changing the fuel tank (which came pre-assembled with new fuel lines) was WAY easier than changing just the fuel lines.  In any case- it's fixed and I was able to take care of some much needed trimming!

I did have a chance to stamp over the weekend.  I decided to create an altered version of the My Paper Pumpkin kit.   I still used only the contents of the original kit.  For this card- I changed the orientation from landscape to portrait.  I think it's just as cute as the original version!
Want to join in on the My Paper Pumpkin fun?  Visit http://mypaperpumpkin.com today!  I would love to be your selected demo!  (Dani Dziama)
Have a great Monday!

You can make gift bags?

Good morning!
Today I thought I'd share a little gift bag that I created for my son to give his friend at her birthday party tomorrow.  Since Cameron told me about the party last minute-we decided to make a gift bag to hold his friend's present. Cameron had NO idea whatsoever that I could make him a gift bag.   Boy was he surprised!  Here is what I came up with:
I saw a wonderful video posted by Stampin' Up! that showed me how to create the bag.  I embellished mine differently but the bag is basically the same.  I think it came out pretty cute!  Especially on last minutes notice!

Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Gumball Green
Stamps:  Banner Greetings, Six-Sided Sampler
Inks:  Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight
Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Big Shot, Floral Frames Framelits, Paper Snips, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Spritzer bottles w/70% alcohol (to create flower), Creped Filter Paper, 1/8" Silver Brad, 7/8" Natural Cotton Ribbon

Happy Friday!!!

I am so excited because my My Paper Pumpkin subscription arrived yesterday!  I absolutely LOVE this kit! The hexagon shapes are so fun and the colors are perfect!  What a great way to make 4 cards in under 30 minutes!
As per my usual- I have made one card exactly like the card that comes pictured in the kit.  The last 3 cards will all be created differently but using the same ingredients.  Have you signed up for My Paper Pumpkin yet?  If not- visit http://mypaperpumpkin.com today!  Don't forget to choose me as your demonstrator (Dani Dziama)!

Wonderful Wednesday

Good morning!
Today is Wednesday and that means it's strawberry pickin' day!  I am SO excited!  I love the beginning of summer just when berries are finally ripe.  There's nothing like a fresh bowl of berries!  YUM!

I have a card to share today that features the Happy Day stamp set.  I love this set because there are so many wonderful sentiments (and some great images as well!)  Yesterday's card also featured this stamp set.  Actually the same stamp!  Only today- I used the full image. Sentiments are so versatile and work with any layout!  I hope you enjoy!

Happy Day

Good morning!
I hope you all survived Monday and all of it's craziness!  Today's card I have to share with you is a sunburst card.  I love making this style card because it allows me to use up my scraps (which I usually throw away).  I used the Hello Friend sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set.  As you can see- I masked the word "Friend" out of the image.  I think it came out cute!
Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Island Indigo, Whisper White
DSP:  Quatrefancy Specialty
Stamps:  Happy Day
Ink:  Strawberry Slush
Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, White Organza Ribbon, Strawberry Slush Ruffle Stretch Trim, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals

Have you tried the sunburst technique yet?  If not- do it!  It's SOOO much fun!!!

Hello Monday!

Good Morning!
Are you ready for a new week?  I know I am!  Last week was filled with lots of teaching and creating.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day.  We took my husband out for breakfast and then we bbq'd dinner.  Overall it was a fun day!
Last night I created a card to share using the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set.  I just can't get enough of the hexagons.  I LOVE to use that stamp set!  Too much fun!  My card features the Pistachio Pudding/Midnight Muse/Crisp Cantaloupe color combination again.  I love how it looks!  What is your favorite color combination?
I saw this card layout on Pinterest and figured I'd try it out.  I have just the perfect person in mind to send this card to!
Happy Monday!  Have a great week!

Weekend fun!

Good morning!
Are you ready for the weekend?  Do you have any fun plans?  I know exactly where I'll be- in my stamp room working on swaps for convention.  I didn't sign up for any organized swaps so I will only be swapping with people from my team.  I suppose if I make more swap cards I'll be able to swap with other demo's as well.  I guess time will tell!  I'll have to see what I can get accomplished!

I made a Tea Party card to share with you today.  My card today uses Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana.  What a lovely color combination!  What colors do you like to pair together?  Do you like bright colors or do you tend to go more for the subtles?

Have a great weekend!
Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White
DSP:  Brights DSP Stack
Stamps:  Tea Party
Inks:  Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo
Tools: Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Ovals Collection Framelits, Sticky Strip

Thanks much!

Good morning!
Are you ready for the weekend?  I surely am!  Yesterday I received my copy of the brand new Holiday Catalog for Stampin' Up!.  I set it aside to look at this weekend because I've been so busy but I must admit- the urge to peek is strong!  Not sure I can resist.

Fighting my urge to peek- I decided to play around with the new stamp set called Six-Sided Sampler.  This set is so much fun!  I love punching out the hexagons and piecing them together in different designs.  I also love to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to arrange the hexagons and stamp them into fun patterns.  I can quickly see this set becoming one of my favorites!
Here is my card for today:
Are you sick of Strawberry Slush yet?  It seems to be my color of choice lately.  I love that it's so fresh and fun!  Actually- all of the new 2013-2015 In-Color's are fabulous!  They all coordinate so well with each other.  For some reason the Strawberry Slush card stock  in my picture above doesn't look the same color as the ribbon.  I apologize for the bad picture.  It truly looks the same in person!

Happy Friday!!!

Card Stock:  Strawberry Slush, Whisper White
Stamps:  Six-Sided Sampler, Oh Hello

Rainy day!

Good Morning!
It's Thursday and my son's last day of school.  I am so happy that I no longer have to be up at 6 am.  Thankfully I can now stay up late and sleep in if I want to!  Sure does make my life more fun!  On a side note- how on earth are we already on the 13th day of June?  Where does the time go?  It's also been raining here for what seems like forever.  Hopefully it stops soon or I might float away!

I created another card to share using the Tea Party stamp set.  I am having so much fun with this set!  I'm currently in the process of making a little gift set that has a tea bag holder and a card.  I will share as soon as I have it complete!
The DSP used for this card is from the newly reconfigured DSP Stacks.  It's from the Subtles collection.  I used Calypso Coral.  I am SO happy that Calypso Coral and Pool Party are staying!  My fav's!
Happy Stampin'!

Little tags

Good morning!
Today I have the cutest little set of tags to share.  This was actually a surprise sent to me by my fabulous upline Becky Roberts.  I LOVE how she altered a paper bag to make a pouch to hold the tags.  Such a cute idea!
Here is what the tags look like outside of the pouch:
What a fun way to say Happy Birthday!  TOO CUTE!
It's hard to see from the pictures but there is a lot of embellishments on the tags.  I love all the tags but my favorite is the party hat with the In-Color Dahlia.
Have a happy Wednesday!

Hello Sweet Friend

Good morning!
Did you all survive Monday?  I must admit- it was an extremely busy day for me!  I have been trying to get my house in order, package/mail sold stamp sets/accessories, kids from school and the list goes on and on.  Thankfully Monday is over.  Today I will be visiting some friends in Findlay, Ohio for a day of stampin' fun!  I can't wait!  Hopefully we will all have some ideas to share with each other and perhaps we can get a lot accomplished!  It's always fun to stamp with friends!
I created a card to share today using the new stamp set called Six-Sided Sampler.  It's a lovely set of hexagon stamps as well as sentiments.  Since I rarely use the color Midnight Muse- my challenge to myself for the day was to create a card using Midnight Muse in some form.  Be it ink, DSP, card stock or ribbon I was determined to create a great card using that color.  This is what I came up with:
What do you think?  I love it!

UPDATE:  Yesterday I posted that I had a long list of retired items- thankfully it was an extremely busy day yesterday because I sold everything that I had available from my retired list.  Thank you for your interest!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Pistachio Pudding, Midnight Muse, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Stamps:  Six-Sided Sampler
Inks:  Midnight Muse, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding

TEA PARTY!!!

Good morning stampin' friends!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  I spent much needed time in my stamp room this weekend and was able to create a lot of beautiful cards!  I also had the opportunity to go through all of my supplies.  Each year after Stampin' Up! puts out the retirement lists- I go through my products to see what is no longer going to be available. Then- I have a HUGE sale.  If you would like to see what's on my retired/for sale list- please send me an email to dani.dziama@gmail.com  I would be happy to send it to you!  My retirement sale is actually a GREAT way to score some deals!  I have several items available at fantastic prices!  All priced to sell.

The card I created to share today is from a beautiful stamp set called Tea Party.  I love this stamp set mostly because it reminds me of the Tea for Two DSP which just retired.  It was my favorite DSP and fabric.  Fortunately in the new catalog there's a DSP that's exactly the same.  The only difference is the color scheme.  The new DSP is called Afternoon Picnic and it features several new colors like Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana.
Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray
DSP:  Afternoon Picnic
Stamps:  Tea Party
Inks:  Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray
Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Bone Folder, Big Shot, Stripes Embossing Folder, Top Note Die, Ovals Collection Framelits, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Happy Graduation!

Good afternoon!
Today I have a simple graduation card to share with you.  I CASED the design from Debi Pippin.  I first saw her card on Stampin' Connection (a private board for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators).  I thought the card was great!  I loved how it looked!  She did a fabulous job!
My husband is a tennis coach for a local high school here in Monroe and since he has 4 seniors on the team this year he asked me to make some cards for him.  I'm very lucky- my husband truly loves my work and is always so supportive!  For his cards-  I used Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  The school colors are actually green and gold but I noticed that the girls wore yellow during the graduation ceremony.  I think they came out cute!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Black Staz-On
Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, 1/8" Silver Brads, Vintage Brads,  Big Shot, Stripes Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Embossing Folder, Paper Piercing Tool, White embroidery floss (I recommend using Bakers Twine.  I didn't have enough left or I would have used that instead)
Have a great Sunday!

For this card- I used Island Indigo, Gumball Green, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Whisper White for the color combination.

Yesterday I shared a card that featured the Negative Image Technique.  I love the look and thought I'd try it again for my card today. While doing my usual daily blog hopping, I came across a challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary blog.  I loved the card sketch and figured why not!  I'll play along!  If you would also like to participate in their challenge- you can visit this link: Create with Connie and Mary

This is the card sketch we were to create from:

Being negative can be good!

Good morning!
Today I have another card to share with you.  Some of the elements on this card are new and some are old. I'm sure some of you have seen the cute card on page 75 of the new Stampin' Up! catalog.  The title of the block the card is featured in says "Being Negative Can Be Good! (Sometimes)".  Since I have never tried the Negative Image technique- I chose to create a card that featured this technique.
This technique is super simple and the results are awesome!  How exactly do you create a card using this technique?  First- you use a Framelits die to create negative space. (I used the Hearts Collection Framelits)  Then you use a background stamp to fill the space with a design.  It's as simple as that!  To finish my card off- I chose to create a card base from Strawberry Slush and embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I then took my stamped image and adhered the new Strawberry Slush Ruffled Stretch Ribbon along the outside edges.  Add some Stampin' Dimensionals on all 4 corners and adhere to your card base.  I added a sentiment to mine from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.  Embellish as desired.

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Stamps:  Fabulous Phrases, Wood Grain Background
Inks:  Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush
Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot, Hearts Collection Framelits, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Chevron Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Sponge, Paper Snips, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals

Tent Favor Box

Good morning!
WOW!  This is my second post in one day!  I've been playing around with a few templates to see if I could recreate the tent favor box on page 50 in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog.  Here is what I came up with:
Isn't it adorable?  I know I say love a lot- but I LOVE this little favor box.  It is so stinkin' cute!  They are super easy to make and only take a few minutes.  I stamped mine with the Woodgrain Background Stamp and adhered it together with Sticky Strip.  Wouldn't these be fun for cub scouts?  Or any boy party in general.

Want to make one of your own?  I used the template from this site: Triangle Box Template  The actual template that I used is on page 2.  The only modification I made was the addition of the door slit. Be sure to cut the slits BEFORE you assemble your box.  To make the door frame- I used a craft knife and made a vertical slit about an inch long in the center of one of the end triangles.  Then I cut along the bottom score line on the same triangle to make an intersecting T (the T will be upside down).  Carefully fold back your flaps and viola!  A cute little tent!
Have a great day!

Another Six-Sided Sampler

Good Morning!
I have been playing with my new goodies for a few days now.  So far- I can safely say that I love each and every new item that I ordered.  The ribbons are simply amazing and the new DSP stacks- WOW!  I could go on and on for hours.  If you still do not have a copy of the new catalog- let me know so I can get one sent out to you ASAP.
I made another Six-Sided Sampler card to share with you.  This stamp set is so much fun to work with because it has a coordinating punch.  For this card- I used the coordinating punch to punch out my hexagons and then I trimmed around each stamped image so that I could layer it onto another hexagon.
Have a great Wednesday!

Six-Sided Sampler

Good Morning!
Today I have a card to share!  This card features several new products!  Everything from the card stock color to the stamp set!  I chose to create this card using a Coastal Cabana card base.  The polka dot paper is from the Afternoon Picnic DSP.  Hello sweet friend and the hexagon are both from the new stamp set called Six-Sided Sampler. As you can see from the picture- I used the brand new Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim ribbon.  I LOVE this new ribbon.  It's so easy to work with and is just absolutely beautiful!  I'm glad I ordered one in all the new In-color colors.  The ribbon itself is stretchy.  There is a tiny elastic band at the top that not only allows the ribbon to stretch but also to contour around corners.  It's the perfect addition for any card, scrapbook page or any type of craft.
Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray
DSP:  Afternoon Picnic
Stamps:  Oh Hello, Six-Sided Sampler
Inks:  Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray
Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot, Ovals Collection Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Magnetic Platform, Paper Snips, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Pearl Basic Jewels, Bone Folder, Hexagon Punch

Check this out!

My new products came!!!  Here is a sampling of what I ordered! I LOVE the new In-Color ribbons.  They are so beautiful!  You actually get a lot on each spool as well!
One of my favorite products that I've been playing with this morning is the new Magnetic Platform for the Big Shot.  WOW!  How did I ever live without this item before?  It truly is awesome!  It definitely holds the edgelits/framelits in place  No more worrying about mis-cuts!
I probably won't have a card to share with you again until tomorrow.  I have a few appointments this afternoon so I won't have much more time to stamp.
Enjoy your day!

Golf anyone?

Good morning!
I am SOOOO excited for today!  My first catalog order with brand new products will be arriving on my doorstep by 10:30am.  I can't wait to play with my new toys and I'm so excited to share!  I feel like a child on Christmas morning!
I have a card to share right now that was created from current Stampin' Up! products.  This card is not my original idea.  It is a case of a card that I saw on Pinterest.  I am not sure who the original creator is as the card was linked to numerous different sites.  So as always- if this is your creation- please let me know so that I can give proper credit.
Since Father's Day is Sunday June 16th- I wanted to share a masculine card.  Golf is super popular with guys so why not have a golf themed card?  I love this design- it's clean and simple not to mention fun!  This design layout is also perfect for birthdays.  Who wouldn't love to receive a card like this?
Have a fabulous day and I'll be back to share my new goodies!!!

Modern Layaway?

Good afternoon!
Today I'm offering the chance to own all the NEW In-Color's.  How does this work?  It's easy!  It's called the Modern Layaway.  Please see the flyer below for more details.  This is a fantastic option!  In order to participate- I need a commitment from 5 people.  Once the first 5 slots are filled- I will take the next 5 people and so on.  This requires a 5 month commitment.  Any questions?  Please feel free to call me at (734) 497-8521 or email me at dani.dziama@gmail.com and I'd be happy to help!

Secret Garden colored vellum

Good Morning!
I had a few people email and ask if I had any other card samples that featured colored vellum.  As it turns out- I actually do!  I have another card.  Creating colored vellum is a lot of fun but it does require some patience!  It takes a long time to dry so I tend to make my flowers in advance and let them dry overnight.
Here is my other sample:
You will notice on this card that I used the Lacy Brocade embossing folder for the oval in the center.  Since this card was created several days ago- the Lacy Brocade folder has since  retired.  Unless it is sold out- I believe it is still available until June 3rd.  Lacy Brocade has truly been the most used folder in my collection!  I will definitely miss it!
