Monday Montage #40

Hello there and welcome back for the bi-weekly Monday Montage blog hop.  Did you arrive from the fabulous Cathy Casey's blog?  If not- be sure to follow the hop all the way around to see what beauty she has created today!

As most of you already know- I work as a medical assistant for a wonderful doctor's office here in town.  Just as a restaurant has it's regulars- so do we.  Some patients I see on a regular basis and I have gotten to know them throughout the past year.  One of my favorite patient's has a birthday tomorrow and I wanted to make a card just for her.  She is the kindest person- for every holiday- she makes me a candle so I thought it only fair that I create something special for her as well.

My project for tonight is a tri-fold card that is kept closed with a bamboo skewer.  It was difficult to get a good picture so I apologize for the poor quality.  I didn't want the bamboo skewer to just be plain wood looking so I wrapped it with the Birthday Bash Designer Washi Sheets. If you haven't purchased them yet- you need to!  You will LOVE them!

The picture above shows the card when it's open.  It's really long so it's hard to fit it all into one picture.  The idea for my card was shared by Jim Hankins.  I loved his St. Patrick's version and I knew I needed to create one too!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will continue around the hop by clicking the NEXT button to see what the amazing Dara Gloden has to share with you tonight.  I'm sure it's gorgeous!

A little St. Patty's Day fun!

Good evening!
Can you believe that St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner?  In just 2 short days the festivities will begin!  I just couldn't let this holiday go by without creating something FUN for the special day.  Today it was a card created just for the occasion!

I've been seeing a lot of the vintage mustache/monocle themed cards and other projects lately and I thought I'd create one of my own!  I think it's pretty cute!  I love the 4 leaf clover on the hat.  It was created using the small heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and a 1/2" circle.  After it was assembled- I ran it through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  It came out cute!

Have you created anything special for St. Patrick's Day?  I wonder what tomorrow's project for St. Patrick's Day will be?  Only time will tell!
Thanks for stopping by!

Don't you just LOVE the floral background?  That was created using the floral die cut from the Artisan Embellishments kit, a sponge dauber, and Crumb Cake ink.  LOVE that kit!

Monday Montage #39

Hello there and welcome back for the bi-weekly Monday Montage blog hop.  Did you arrive from the fabulous Cathy Casey's blog?  If not- be sure to follow the hop all the way around to see what beauty she has created today!

My project for tonight is a chevron patterned canvas frame.  To make the chevron pattern- I used a stencil created with MDS2 and cut out with an e-cutter.  See the pretty pink paint?  That's actually just basic white craft paint tinted with a Pink Pirouette reinker.  It took a LOT of reinker to get it that color pink but that's ok.  I love how it came out!  I love that Stampin' Up! products are multipurpose!

The flowers were created using a combination of circle punches and circle framelits.  The picture was from my husband and daughter's trip to Hawaii last summer.  It's a black and white photo but it's one of my favorites!
This little canvas frame can be used to display a different picture or card or anything you like really!  All you have to do is press the clip and remove the card stock and the picture.  Then you're ready to add the next image!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will continue around the hop by clicking the NEXT button to see what the amazing Dara Gloden has to share with you tonight.  I'm sure it's gorgeous!

Sending Wishes Your Way

Hello!  Have you seen the beautiful vintage painted mason jars floating around on Pinterest?  I must admit- they are some of my favorites!  LOVE vintage distressed mason jars!  I think that they make beautiful yet functional decorations.  I was looking for some ideas for a vintage looking vase when I came across the  jar below.  It was on the Handmade Wedding at Orcutt Ranch from Ruffled website.

How perfect is that?  I absolutely adore everything there is about that vase and floral arrangement.  It's simple yet sophisticated and the colors are gorgeous!  Even though my vintage distressed mason jar is just beginning I wanted to share it with you.  It will eventually be filled with a gorgeous bouquet of paper flowers but for now- this is what's complete so far.

I painted the mason jar with some chalk paint.  After it was dry- I sanded in random spots to distress the jar. The Ball and WIDEMOUTH raised images were also sanded.  It's difficult to see in the picture but I promise it looks beautiful!

The tag was created with the following Stampin' Up! products:
