Dragonfly Dreams continued...

Hello there stampers!  My project tonight is a continuation of the project I shared from a few days ago using the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  For this card I chose to focus on one stamp in particular- the one with all the tiny little dots.

To create the background I began watercoloring with Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach reinkers.  After the background was dry I added the bokeh effects using the dotted image.  This image was stamped in Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White craft ink.  Next up was clear Wink of Stella.  What card would be complete without it?  I'm not sure about you but I can easily use an entire bottle of this on one single card.  I LOVE it!

I hope you've enjoyed my project tonight!  Be sure to check back Thursday for another Artisan Design Team blog hop!

Dragonfly Dreams

Good evening!  What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?  It's been unseasonably warm here in Michigan.  Don't get me wrong- it's still cold and gray BUT we have no snow and the temps have been pretty much well above average for this time of year.  I guess I can't complain!

Since we've had no snow since pretty much before Christmas I've been in the mood to play with springtime stamps!  The Dragonfly Dreams photopolymer set fits this bill perfectly!
Gotta love a clean and simple card!

To create the pretty flower- I inked the "dragonfly wings" stamp in Pool Party and stamped it several times in a circle.  I then inked up my Aqua Painter with a little bit of Crushed Curry re-inker and colored in the center of the flower as well as the bumble bee.  The bee's wings were painted with clear Wink of Stella to add a little sparkle.
What do you think?  Do you think that the dragonfly wings make a good flower?  I also think that the dragonfly body would make a great flower stem however for this card I just wanted the top of the flower instead of a flower with a stem.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a Note...

Hey there stampin' friends!  Now that the new Occasions Catalog has been live for a few weeks- what do you think?  Do you love it as much as I do?  What are your favorites?
One of my new favorites is the gorgeous Lift me Up stamp set.  The hot air balloon images remind me of the balloon rally that takes place every year in the city near where I grew up.
Each year my parents would take us to see the balloons lift off and upon occasion we would even be fortunate enough to see them land.

One of my favorite parts about the Occasions catalog is that it always coincides with Sale-A-Bration. During Sale-A-Bration you can get this beautiful designer series paper absolutely FREE with any $50 purchase!  It's the perfect compliment to the Lift Me Up stamp set.

If you look closely at the picture above you'll see that I have created a 3 dimensional set of mountains along the bottom edge of the card.  I wanted to create an image that would make the balloons look as though they were rising up from behind the mountains.  To create this look I simply fussy cut a small section of mountains from the DSP and adhered them to the front of the existing DSP with the Foam Adhesive Strips.

Stampin' UP! Artisan Blog Hop- Sealed With Love Mini Cards

Hello there and welcome to the 2017 Stampin' UP! Artisan Design Team blog hop!  Even though I've had several months to let it all sink in- I still can't believe it's real. I am so thankful to have been chosen as a member of this insanely talented team. I am looking forward to spending the next year creating beautiful projects to share with you all.  Please join us as we take our first trip hopping together from around the world!

For our first hop, we are featuring the brand new Sealed With Love stamp set. Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner I chose to create a box that would hold a set of four- mini 3"x 3" cards and envelopes.

My first card was created by inking the tiny lips stamp in Blushing Bride ink and randomly "kissing" the Whisper White card stock around the sentiment.  The lips add the perfect touch to the card and complement the Sealed with a Kiss sentiment.

Did you notice that each  3"x 3" card has it's own unique envelope? Using the Envelope Punch Board and the Sending Love DSP stack I created coordinating envelopes.  Even though each envelope technically matches every card I designed-  each card has been paired specifically with the envelope that matches the DSP on the front of the card. It's not visible from the picture but the DSP on the card is the same print that's on the inside of the envelope.

My favorite 💝.  There's just something magical about arrows and love.  And seriously- these tiny sentiments are the sweetest!

And last but certainly not least is a love note within a love note!  The tiny envelope on the front of the card has a card of it's own.  Simply remove it from the envelope and add you're own handwritten sentiment.  The perfect way to share your love!

I hope you have enjoyed my ensemble!  I always love to create mini 3"x 3" cards as they are the perfect size to stash in a lunch box, stick on the mirror or hide under a pillow.  However you choose to give them, they are sure to bring a smile to the face of the lucky recipient!

Oh So Succulent

Hello there!  Are you enjoying the brand new Occasions Catalog?  I'm trying to get an order around but there are So. Many. Choices.  It's definitely difficult to chose just a few!  How about you?  Have you placed your order yet?

One of the first items I purchased during the demonstrator preorder was the Oh So Succulent bundle.  I'm just now getting around to using it and I'm already in love. Such a great set!  My card tonight shows just one example of how to use this gorgeous bundle.

To create the flower- I used 2 of the smallest coordinating framelits and cut out a few flowers from the Succulent Garden DSP.  Then I curled the petals and layered the flowers together.  A Rhinestone Basic Jewel was added to the center to add interest.  Isn't it gorgeous?

High Tide

Hello stampers!  Have you recovered from the Holidays?  I'm slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things!  Today a brand new Stampin' Up! Catalog went live.  How exciting is that?  You will just LOVE all the new items!  This may just be the best Occasions Catalog yet!  Don't forget- it's also Sale-a-Bration and that means FREE stuff for YOU!  That's right!  For every $50 spent you will receive your choice of items from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog.

Over the holiday break some pretty exciting news happened in our home.  My son was accepted to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.  He is over the moon excited.  The U of M was his first choice for university and he has worked so stinkin' hard to get in.  I'm so proud of him and excited to see where the next chapter in his life will take him.
Sorry to all my Ohio State friends!  Now I can't root for the Buckeye's.  Ever. 😬😬😬

Believe it or not I do actually have something fun to share with you tonight.  It's from the new Occasions Catalog and it's created with the High Tide stamp set.

I LOVE this set!  From the moment I first saw it all I could think about creating were gorgeous beach scenes.  This project isn't 100% finished yet (as you can see).  It's more like 75% of the way done.  I'm trying to decide if I'm going to make it a post card or actually turn it into a full card.  Then there's always the sentiment options.  Too many choices!  Stay tuned for the finished project!
