Monday Montage

Hello stampin' friends!  What do you prefer?  Traditional Red/Green or non-traditional colors for Christmas?  I think non-traditional colors are gorgeous as they remind me of vintage mercury glass ornaments.  The kind I'd see on my grandma's tree every year when I was a child.  

This card was created using a Coastal Cabana card base.  The Basic White top layer features snowflakes in Shimmery White Embossing Paste that were created using the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks.  On Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper- I made a scrap of watercolor image from Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay inks.  All tree images were cut out using the Christmas Trees Dies.  

The large tree and the sentiment were stamped in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed in white (from the Basics Stampin' Emboss Powers).  Opal Rounds and Subtle Shimmer Sequins add some bling.  The silver Simply Elegant Trim was the perfect bow to tie in the DSP (from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP).

Creation Station: Anything But A Card

Do you like to create projects other than cards?  I know I do!  There's just something magical about making a 3D project or a home decor piece.  I love making things that make others smile.  

Today's project isn't overly difficult to create but it's super cute and I know the recipients will be happy!  Afterall- who doesn't love chocolate!

This month we are creating projects that are Anything But A Card.  It can be home decor, an ornament, a box or a bag or just about anything in between- as long as it's not a card!  Stampin' UP! makes this easy!  In the Annual Catalog I found these adorable Mini Jam Jars.  They make the cutest little treat holders!

Want to make these yourself?  Here are the BASIC instructions:

Cut a 4-3/4" square piece of card stock and score all 4 sides at 1-1/4".  Snip flaps on opposite sides and fold into a box. Secure using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Cut a 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of card stock and coordinating DSP.  Adhere together and round the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch.  Attach this piece inside the box along the inner back panel and secure using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  

Wrap a 1" x 10-1/2" strip of coordinating DSP around the box to decorate.  Decorate as you like!

The above view shows both the jar and the treat holder.  I created all 4 of mine using the gorgeous Peaceful Place DSP, Wonderful Snowflakes,  Merry Snowflakes Stamp Set,  Stitched Snowflake Dies, Opal Rounds, White Glittered Organdy Ribbon, and Smoky Slate/Basic White Card Stock.  

I sure do hope the flight attendants on our trip to Florida will enjoy their treats!  I haven't filled the jars yet- but they will have Lindor Truffles in them!

Monday Montage 202: Peppermint Kisses

Hello stampin' friends!  Thank you for joining us for the Monday Montage Blog hop where today I'm featuring the fabulous Gingerbread Dies.  These dies have a little bit of everything!  Shapes for cookies, peppermints, snowflakes and more!

To begin-  I created a stencil out of a Poppy Parade Card Stock scrap that measured 3" x 4-1/4" and the "peppermint swirl" dies.    There are 3 different sizes of the peppermint swirls: small, medium and large.  

I cut a variety of each randomly until the stencil was completely filled in with swirls.

I then centered the stencil on top of a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Basic White Card Stock and secured temporarily with a few post-it notes.  Next comes the fun part!  Using a Palette Knife I carefully applied a thin layer of Shimmery White Embossing Paste making sure to cover all peppermint swirls.  After the embossing paste was applied I quickly removed the stencil.

Once the embossing paste was dry- I began adhering each individual Poppy Parade peppermint swirl to the open portion of each embossing paste swirl.  I adhered them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue but it would have been much easier to just use the Adhesive Sheets!  

The sentiment tag was created using the Seasonal Labels Dies, Give It A Whirl Dies, Gingerbread Dies and Layering Circles Dies. (The scalloped circle is from the Give It A Whirl Dies) The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a Basic White Scrap and cut out with the Layering Circles Dies. 

To add the finishing touches- I created a simple bow using the Silver Simply Elegant Trim.  Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the center of each peppermint to add interest.

Monday Montage #185

Hello stampers and welcome back for another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  I'm happy to have you join us!

Did you pass over the Brushed Blooms Bundle in the Mini Catalog?  If so- I highly recommend giving this set a try!  The dies and stamps are gorgeous.  Especially the brushstroke image. 

I love the versatility of the Beautiful Brushstrokes Dies.  Not only can one cut brushstrokes from card stock- but the negative image can also be used to create a fun background!  On the card below- I have paired the Beautiful Brushstrokes Dies with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  

I've used a color combination of Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz to create a pastel floral focal point.  Each image was stamped off once before being stamped and die cut.  This card is my Thank You card for my customers during the month of March.

Monday Montage #181 Hello Love

Hello stampers and welcome back for another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  I'm happy to have you join us!

The Snail Mail Product Suite from the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog is one of my favorites!  The catalog is filled with so many amazing products that it's hard to pick just one fave!  

Everything about this product suite is fun!  The stamps, the DSP, the colors.  Even the embellishments are awesome! 

 For my card below- I've paired the Snail Mail Product Suite with the Detailed Hearts Die.  I'm loving how the background came out!  

I began by cutting the Detailed Hearts Die out of the lined paper from the Snail Mail DSP.  I then cut another Detailed Heart from Real Red Card Stock and one from Blushing Bride Card Stock.  Next- I layered the lined DSP outline onto a piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock.  I then adhered the red hearts die cut back into the outline in the lined DSP.  To add more fun to the card- I randomly added Blushing Bride and lined DSP hearts into the red heart cut out.   

Using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies- I created a Basic White layer and embellished it with several hearts from the Stitched Be Mine Dies and a cute snail from the Snail Mail DSP.

Hello there stampers!  Today I'm joining the TGIF Challenges team in sharing a card that features my favorite color combo.  Whisper White and Basic Black.  I love this color combo because it's both elegant and simple. 

There are many fun elements on this card!  I used the brand new Lots Of Heart Bundle.  The Lots of Heart Stamp Set has multiple heart images as well as sentiments to match.  The Many Hearts Dies has 15 dies- mostly heart shapes but there is also a few floral images as well as a border die.

Why not join in on the fun?  Simply create a card using only Basic Black and Whisper White and submit it on the TGIF Challenges blog using the guidelines below!
