First Frost

Good evening!  Tonight I had the opportunity to play around a bit with a few of my new toys from Stampin' UP!.  I was immediately drawn to the First Frost Stamp Set and coordinating Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies as well as the amazing Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Just in case you're wondering what's so "special" about the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP- let me just assure you that it is nothing like a DSP we have ever had before.  It's shimmery, it's lightweight and it is absolutely gorgeous!  Pictures in the catalog do not do this suite justice.  It is definitely a must see in person!

Like most things- I have managed to find a favorite.  For this suite- my favorite would be the amazing DSP that I used for the striped background.  It's Gray Granite and it's super sparkly!  For the roses- they were stamped in Blushing Bride (leaves were stamped in Mint Macaron) and covered in Wink Of Stella to add some shimmer.  If you don't have Wink Of Stella- that's ok- you can get a similar effect by using the new Shimmer Paint's from the Holiday Catalog.

Here's a close up of the main focal image.  So pretty!

So Santa!

Hello there stampers!  Have you chosen all of your favorites from the new Holiday Catalog?  I thought I did but I keep coming across more and more that I simply must have.  One of those sets is called So Santa.  It is so cute!  I love it mostly because of the beach themed Surfer Santa but the Santa on the Scooter is a close second!

The card I created above depicts the first idea I had for this stamp set.  If you look really closely in the picture you'll notice some wonky sewing in the watercolor wash background.  Stampin' Blends in all colors are the perfect combination for this fun non-traditional Christmas card.

Here's a better view of the wonky sewing.  I love it!  Super cute and oh so fun!

Monday Montage #124: Spirited Snowmen

Hello there stampers!  Welcome back to another edition of Monday Montage.  I don't know about you but I'm super excited to see what everyone has created this week!

I have an uber cute card created with one of my favorites from the new Holiday Catalog.  It's called Spirited Snowmen and it's sure to melt your heart!  This set is absolutely adorable!

It's even cuter when paired with the brand new Buffalo Check background stamp.  For my card- I inked the Buffalo Check stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamped it onto a piece of Lovely Lipstick Card Stock.

The snowmen image was stamped in VersaMark onto a piece of Watercolor Paper and then heat embossed with the Heat Tool and White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The image was then watercolored using the following ink colors and an Aqua Painter:  Lovely Lipstick, Balmy Blue, Shaded Spruce, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Mango Melody and Bermuda Bay.  Since the snowmen were heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder- I outlined them with a darker shade of Balmy Blue to make them stand out better.  So cute!
