Monday Montage #34

Hello there and welcome back for the bi-weekly Monday Montage blog hop.  You should have arrived from the fabulous Cathy Casey's blog. If not and I'm your first stop- Welcome!  Please be sure to use the next/back links to visit the other amazing ladies on this hop as well!  I know they have lots of beautiful projects to share with you!

My project today is a a project that I first saw in the Stampin' Success magazine.  Stampin' Success is a bi-monthly magazine that Stampin' Up! sends it's demonstrators.  Each issue is filled with lots of beautiful projects, business ideas, recognition and much much more!  As soon as I received my copy last month- I opened it up and began to browse.  When I came across the set of 3 absolutely adorable trees- I knew I just *had* to make them!  Now- I didn't alter mine much from the ones pictured in the magazine but I did add a few of my own little touches to them.

The picture above shows all 3 trees.  They are all different sizes.  The smallest one is in a 2.5" terra cotta pot. The medium size is in a  3.5" pot and the largest size is in a 4.5" pot.  The trees themselves aren't difficult to make but they are somewhat time consuming.  The terra cotta pots were painted with black craft paint and the bottoms were embossed using Versamark and Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The embossing took a little longer than I expected but that's because the pot needed to get somewhat hot in order for it to melt.   Embossing on card stock is much quicker!

Here is a close-up of  the smallest tree:

For the small tree- I only added 3 stars punched from Gold Glimmer paper.  On the medium tree shown below- I made a tiny garland from the stars punched from Gold Glimmer Paper.

My favorite- the largest tree- has a little banner that was created using the Mini Banner punch and the word MERRY which I created using MDS.  Aren't they cute?
