#tgifc #209 Inspiration Challenge

Hello stampin' friends!  Today's #tgifc challenge is an inspiration challenge featuring Sepia Tones.  I'm not sure about you but when I think of sepia tones I'm reminded of things that are vintage or things that look vintage.

My card began with a simple Crumb Cake base and ended up with lots of layers and little details....

As I was playing around I decided to grab the brand new soon to be released Birch Background Stamp that I got at OnStage a few weeks ago.  I just *adore* this stamp!  It is simply beautiful.  Especially when paired with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies.  Check out that gorgeous new ribbon!  It's the new Scalloped Lace Trim that will be available in the upcoming 2019-2020 Stampin' UP! Annual Catalog.

The close up above shows a lot of the little details.  Like the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint flecks and the Pearl Basic Jewels.  How about the True Gentleman Buttons and the gorgeous embossing on the Soft Suede heart?  Not to mention the faux stitching created by using the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies!

Though it may be difficult to see in the first picture- this card is full of dimension!  There's a lot going on and it's a great thing!  I love how fancy yet fun this card is!

Please join our challenge this week!  The deadline for entries is 10am PST on Thursday 5/2/19 and I would LOVE to see what you create using Sepia Tones as an inspiration!

Fancy Friday: For Family

Hello there and welcome back for another Fancy Friday blog hop.  I'm hopping with my fancy friends today- all are either current or former members of the Stampin' UP! Artisan Design Team.  For this month we are creating cards for family.

My card is a Thank You card that was created for a member of my family who is always helping out in any way possible.  I have not yet sent the card so the recipient shall remain anonymous!

Upon first glance the Healing Hugs Stamp Set may appear as though it's only for Get Well Soon cards however the floral images can be used for any occasion!  Plus- who can resist those gorgeous roses!  They are AWESOME!

Can you see the flecks of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint?  So pretty!

Thanks for stopping by!
Please continue along on our hop and visit my lovely friend Paula Dobson.  She has something fabulous waiting for you!

Monday Montage #137

Happy Easter!  Are you excited to see what the Monday Montage team has created to share this week?  I know I am!

I feel like I haven't shared anything in forever!  Last week was OnStage (I attended the Atlantic City, NJ event) and then my hubby ran the Boston Marathon so I've been really busy these past few weeks.

My project tonight is an adorable little Easter Basket that I created to take to Easter brunch at our friend's house this afternoon.

The baskets were created using a 6" x 6" piece of Gingham Gala DSP and the Envelope Punch Board.  The basket handle measures 1/2" x 8-1/2".

The Gingham Gala DSP comes in so many fun springy colors!  All the colors are so cute!  I'm not sure I have a favorite!

There's Balmy Blue:

Daffodil Delight:

Lemon Lime Twist:

 Grapefruit Grove:

As you can see from the pictures- each basket holds quite a bit of sweet treats!  I filled them to the brim with a mini chocolate bunny, Cadbury Creme Eggs, Lindor Truffle Eggs, Reeses, and Hershey Eggs.

Creation Station Blog Hop: Going Gingham Style!

Good morning and welcome to another Creation Station Blog Hop!  Our theme this month is Gingham.  Who doesn't love gingham?  I mean come on- it pretty much looks great on just about everything!

This sweet card features the Be Mine Stitched Framelits and the Gingham 6" x 6" DSP.  For the larger heart- I first adhered the scalloped layer to the card base.  I then wrapped some Silver and White Baker's Twine around the heart and tied a bow.  Next- using Stampin' Dimensionals I added the larger stitched heart over top of the baker's twine layer.

To add a little more interest I stamped the rose image from the Tea Together Stamp Set in VersaMark ink onto a Vellum Card Stock scrap and heat embossed it with the Heat Tool and some White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Balmy Blue ink splatters were added courtesy of the Light Balmy Blue Stampin' Blend.  Silver Metallic Pearls were placed around the hearts and by the bow to add the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by!
Why not continue on our hop!  There are lots of amazing projects to be seen today!  Next up is the fabulous Mikaela Titheridge.

A Special Birthday Card

Hey there stampers!  Tonight I'm sharing a birthday card that was created for my friend Andrea's 40th Birthday.  I've been waiting and waiting.....and waiting to share this card but she has finally received it so it's no longer a surprise.

As 40 is a milestone birthday- I wanted to create something special for her.  I used the Flowering Desert Stamp Set as I know it's one of her favorites.
I first began by stamping the "berries" image in Lovely Lipstick ink onto a Lovely Lipstick card base.  I then layered a piece of Vellum Card Stock onto the Lovely Lipstick Layer.  Using the Rectangle Stitched Shapes Framelits- I cut out a Whisper White Card Stock Layer.  This layer was spattered with Granny Apple Green and Garden Green inks and layered on top of the Vellum layer.  Next- I created a 2" x 3-1/2" tag that had been stamped with the Flowering Desert images as well as the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Amazing Life Stamp Set.

A piece of Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon was added to the top of the tag and tied on with a piece of Linen Thread.  To personalize the card- I cut an A from the Large Letters Framelits Dies and added it on top of a bunch of Metallic Silver Thread.  Andrea was stamped from the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set and fussy cut.  To finish the card off- a big Lovely Lipstick bow was tied around the Whisper White layer.

I hope she enjoyed her special card and her special day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Monday Montage #135

It's time for another edition of Monday Montage!  If I am your first stop on the hop- Welcome!  I'm so happy you joined us!  Please be sure to continue along the hop to see what the other amazing designers have created!

My project started out as a St. Patrick's Day card but it ended up being a "good luck" card instead!

I began by stamping the shamrock image from the Amazing Life Stamp Set in Call Me Clover ink onto a Call Me Clover card base.  I then used two layers- one in Mango Melody and the other Whisper White.  As I was originally going for a St. Paddy's Day theme I thought the green/orange gave a leprechaun feel.

One idea I had as I was playing around was to create a rainbow.  Normally I would have used the Layering Circles Collection Framelits but I thought I would change it up a bit and create a rainbow shower instead.

Everyone knows that at the end of the rainbow- there's a pot of gold!  My little pot is filled full of different size gold coins.  To create the pot- I punched a 2-1/4" Basic Black Circle using the 2-1/4" Circle Punch.  I then cut about 1/4" off the top of the circle to make it flat. Two tiny strips of Basic Black Card Stock make the legs.   The gold coins were created using the Cookie Builder Punch and the 1/2" Circle Punch.

#tgifc 203 Out Of This World

Welcome stampin' friends!  Today over at TGIF Challenges we are featuring cards with an "Out Of This World" theme.  When I first sat down to create a card I immediately reached for the Prussian Blue Brusho Crystals.  Then I remembered that I had used them all.  Yep- that's right!  I used an entire canister of Prussian Blue Brusho Crystals on my OnStage card swaps back in November.

Back to the drawing board it was.  Then I remembered a technique that my friend Ruthie shared with me a few years ago.  I'm not really sure what the technique is called but I'll explain how I created the background.

To create this gorgeous background I used 3 colors.  Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss.  To begin- I used a Sponge Dauber to apply Coastal Cabana ink to the entire front of the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White layer.  I then used a Sponge Dauber to apply some Bermuda Bay ink however this time I only applied the ink in certain areas of the layer.  Finally- using a Sponge Dauber I applied the Blackberry Bliss ink to the layer making sure not to completely cover up the other two colors.

After the Blackberry Bliss ink was applied I took an Aqua Painter filled with water and flicked water onto the front to create the splotchy "stars".  Looks pretty cool, right?

This is a close up of all the pretty things!  The Be Mine Stitched Framelits are the perfect compliment to the sentiment on this card!  The sentiment was created using two different stamp sets.  The Love You is from the Well Said Stamp Set and it was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.  The More Than All The Stars is from the Little Twinkle Stamp Set and was stamped in VersaMark ink onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss Card Stock then heat embossed using the Heat Tool and White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Even though the adorable little Silver/Pool Party Baker's Twine bow is not in one of the 3 colors I used to create the card- it compliments them all well!   The Twinkle Adhesive-Backed Sequins make the perfect finishing touch!

Won't you play along with us this week?   I'd love to see what you create!
