OSAT Blog Hop: Time to Sale-a-brate

Good morning stampin' friends!  Today's projects were created for the One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop.  Today we are Sale-a-brating!  We are creating projects using products from the new Sale-a-bration
brochure.
My card today features the Tree Lot Dies.  These dies are so versatile!  They coordinate with the Trees For Sale Stamp Set in the July-December Mini Catalog however I chose to use them with the Scary Cute Stamp Set.

To create my card- I began by making a mask with a circle cut out of the center.  I then used a Blending Brush and some Daffodil Delight Ink to create the moon.  Next- I covered up the moon so that the remaining background could be colored with Starry Sky Ink.  After the background was colored- I cut another template using the cloud border from the Basic Borders Dies.  One by one- I carefully used a blending brush in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to add a few clouds.  Then I added more clouds using the Starry Sky Ink only this time I made some really dark and some lighter colored ones.

This card also features a shaker feature in the camper.  Tiny bats were cut from the Scary Silouhettes Dies and mixed with the For Everything Fancy Sequins.  As I was keeping within a specific color scheme I only selected sequins that were silver, iridescent glitter, iridescent gems.

My 3D project is a gift card holder.  It features a witch's hat clip.  These witch hat clips were super popular several years ago but I loved them so much back then that I decided to remake it again.  The actual gift card holder was created using the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies.  I love these dies for a variety of reasons.  They are gift card sized, perfect for cash or a little card.  They can even be used to hold small treats!  Perfect for trick or treaters!

A Note Of Thanks

Good afternoon!  Did you notice the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder in the July-December Mini Catalog?   It's on page #62.  It. Is. Fabulous.  I can't believe I almost missed it!  It's quickly becoming a favorite in my craft room.

My card today looks complicated but it's really not.  I began with a Crumb Cake Card Stock base.  To make the tree rings stand out more- I used Crumb Cake Ink and inked up the portion of the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder shown below.  (the Stampin' UP! Logo side )

Next- Using the Rings of Love DSP from Sale-A-Bration- I cut five 1" x 3-1/2" strips of plaid DSP and then layered them onto the card base slanting each one a different way.
The Tree Rings I used for the main focal point were created the same way the card base only this time- I also used the Tree Rings Die (and a different color- Soft Suede) along with the Embossing Folder to die cut each ring.

I added a few leafy bits and some leaves with berries to add interest.  I embellished the card with Linen Thread Bow, a heart and some Pearl Basic Jewels.

Thanks for stopping by!

Monday Montage #217

Hello stampin' friends! Welcome back for the Monday Montage Blog Hop!  I'm so happy that the July-December Mini Catalog is finally live!  It's my favorite!  There are so many amazing new products!  Today I've chosen to a few of my favorites- the Best Witches Stamp Set and Celebrate Everything DSP (host exclusive).

Halloween has been my favorite holiday since I was little.  It's such a fun time of the year and the Halloween stamps in this years Mini Catalog have my head swimming in ideas!  The card above is just one of them!

Here's a close up view of a few details on the card.  The witch was colored using the following Stampin' Blends:  Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black, Mango Melody.  Isn't the  DSP the cutest?  LOVE the pumpkins and ghosts pattern (and the Crushed Curry Stripes as well).

TGIF Challenges #tgifc375

Hello Friends! Today I'm playing along with the TGIF Challenges Design Team. Today we are sharing projects created based on the color combination above. I love this color combination because it's so soft and pretty!

For the large flowers- I sponged a bit of Flirty Flamingo Ink around the center of the flower and then sponged Blushing Bride Ink around the outer portion of the flowers.  The smaller flowers were sponged in reverse- Blushing Bride Ink on the centers and Flirty Flamingo Ink on the outer edges.

The sentiment was stamped in Flirty Flamingo Ink onto Flirty Flamingo Card Stock.  The card was finished off with some adorable Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Monday Montage #216 Water Stamping

Hello stampin' friends! Welcome back for the Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Today's card features a fun stamping technique called Water Stamping.  Have you ever tried water stamping before?  It's super simple and the results are awesome!

For the card I created- here are the steps I followed.
  1. Using a Blending Brush- brush Coastal Cabana Ink all over a piece of Basic White Card Stock that measures 4" x 5-1/4".  Tip:  Choose a darker color for the image to show better and be generous with the ink.
  2. Place the colored Basic White layer onto the Stamparatus and center the Snow Crystal Stamp  (SNEAK PEEK!!!  COMING SOON!) in the center of the layer.
  3. Close the Stamparatus to adhere the stamp to the plate.
  4. Using a Stampin' Spritzer filled with water- lightly spritz the Snow Crystal Stamp.  Tip: Don't over saturate the stamp too much or it will end up blotchy and unrecognizable when stamped.
  5. Stamp the water spritzed stamp onto the colored Basic White layer and let it air dry.
  6. Distress edges of the colored layer and adhere to a Basic White Card Base.
  7. Embellish as desired.
Things to note:  This technique is super easy and works great with all different stamps.  The image stamped with water will be slightly different than an image stamped with ink.  That's ok as it makes for a unique card!  Darker colors of ink work better than lighter colors.

Here's a close up of the water stamped snowflake from my card.  As you can see- the water stamped images aren't as clear as an image stamped with ink however they are still pretty!

Monday Montage: Elephant Parade

Hello stampin' friends! Welcome back for the Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Today's card features the adorable Elephant Parade and coordinating Elephant Dies.  When I first saw this stamp set- I fell in love!  The images are adorable!  Elephants and a mouse (plus some sweet sentiments as well)!

I wanted to create a card that was pretty clean and simple.  I began by die cutting some clouds (Brilliant Rainbow Dies) out of Balmy Blue Card Stock.  Next- I adhered the negative image in the center of the Basic White card base.  I then stamped the elephant and mouse image- colored them in using Light/Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends (for the elephant) and Light/ Dark Stampin' Blends (for the mouse) and cut them out using the Elephant Dies.

The Forever Friends sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then cut into a banner.  A small Linen Thread bow was tied and placed beneath the sentiment banner.  To embellish- I added 3 small Brushed Brass Butterflies.
Super easy but oh so cute!
