#tgifc264- Watercolor

Hello there stampers!  Today I'm joining the TGIF Challenges team in sharing a card that features Watercoloring.  Watercoloring is one of my favorite techniques!  Especially when it involves Pigment Sprinkles!  Sadly the Pigment Sprinkles are retiring so if you've been wanting to try some- don't miss out on them!

I love this jumbo pineapple image.  It's so fun! For my card- I didn't want the pineapple image to be die cut.  I wanted it to be embossed onto the card so that I could watercolor over it.  I'd say it came out pretty well!  The Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green Pigment Sprinkles really make such rich and vibrant colors!  For those who are wondering if I use Fluid 100 or Shimmer White Card Stock as my card medium- I prefer Fluid 100.  Actually it's probably my favorite medium to create cards with.  The weight is perfect and I get excellent results every time!

Why not join in on the fun?  Simply create a watercolor card and submit it on the TGIF Challenges blog using the guidelines below!

Sneak Peek....Take 2

Hello there stampers!  I'm back tonight with another card created using the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set from the upcoming 2020-2021 Stampin' UP! Annual Catalog.  This card is very similar to the card I created a few days ago.  The only difference is I've used polka dots for the background, different color flowers/sentiment banner and a different color card base.  The rest is pretty much the same!

I love how changing a few small details makes for a completely different card!  To create the polka dot background- I used a window sheet and cut out what seemed like a ton of circles.  I then stamped my VersaMark ink pad directly through the circles onto the Whisper White layer.  Using Black Stampin' Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool the background was heat embossed.

For this card- I stamped 2 flowers and 2 leafy images in Black Staz-On and watercolored them using Pigment Sprinkles (Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green) and an Aqua Painter.
This time- the sentiment banner was a Whisper White scrap stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  The sentiment Thank You is also a sneak peek all of it's own!  It's from the upcoming Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Sneak Peek!

Hello stampers!  Tonight I have a special card to share with you.  Why is it special? It features a stamp set from the upcoming 2020-2021 Stampin' UP! Annual Catalog!  That's why!

The stamp set itself is called Tasteful Touches and it has some pretty amazing images!  There's a feather, a flower, some greenery as well as a lacy image.  In addition to the fabulous images- there are also some pretty awesome sentiments to match!

To create this card- I cut a Whisper White layer to 3-3/4" x 5".  Next- using the VersaMark Reinker- I put  a few strips of ink down and smeared it around using my index finger.  It was immediately heat embossed in Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder using the Heat Tool.

I added flecks of Basic Gray ink using the Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker.  A little Silver Metallic Thread bow was added behind the flower images.

You Are The Best is actually a stacked sentiment (the words are one above the other).  I wanted to arrange them all in one line so I simply stamped each image in a line to create the sentiment banner.  Rhinestone Basic Jewels add the finishing touches.

Don't have your copy of the upcoming 2020-2021 Stampin' UP!  Annual Catalog?  Send me a message and I'll get one in the mail to you!  Thanks for stopping by!

Monday Montage #164

Hello and welcome back for another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Are you ready to see all our fabulous projects this week?

My project tonight is a card that was created using scraps of Bird Ballad DSP.  I cut them into 1/4" wide strips and wove them together.

I'm sure gonna miss the Bird Ballad DSP when it retires at the beginning of next month.  It's so pretty I almost didn't wanna cut it!  I love that there are so many gorgeous colors in every sheet. In fact it's hard to choose a color to feature!

I chose Petal Pink for the card base because I wanted a more subtle look.  Calypso Coral could have been used for a bolder card.  The Label Me Bold Stamp Set provided the perfect sentiment for my card... a simple Hello!

I hope you have enjoyed my project!

Stampin' Fancy Friday: Fancy Colors Challenge

Hello there stampin' friends!  Today I'm sharing the card I created for the Stampin' Fancy Friday Fancy Colors Challenge.  This month we are sharing projects created using our favorite Stampin' UP! color combinations or a color combination that we've always wanted to try.

My project features these colors from the Brights Collection:  Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody.  Definitely NOT a color combination I would have ever put together but as you can see from my card- it works!

I've never been much of a "brights" person.  I mean, don't get me wrong- I love the bright colors- they're just a challenge for me to use.  So for my project- I began by creating a watercolor wash using Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green Reinkers, a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and an Aqua Painter.

After my watercolor wash was dry I began adding my stamped images.  From the Very Versailles Stamp Set- I used the words stamp that had been inked in Smoky Slate.  I stamped it in two places on the card.  Then I added a layer of Embossing Paste using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and the Palette Knives.

After the Embossing Paste was completely dry- I used the cap of a Reinker bottle that had been pressed onto the Mango Melody Ink Pad to stamp circular images onto the watercolor layer.  I did this in several places before spritzing flecks of ink all over the card front.

The edges of the watercolored image were distressed using a pair of Paper Snips.  As I was creating this underwater scene- I wanted to utilize the Under The Sea Dies to create a faux fish net, a beachy sand dollar and some underwater greenery.

The Seahorse was stamped onto a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper in Black Staz-On Ink and colored in using Mango Melody and Poppy Parade.  To add the bubbly appearance- I carefully dropped tiny droplets of water onto the dry watercolored image using an Aqua Painter.  Next- he was fussy cut and carefully adhered upon the layers of underwater ephemera.

Overall- I've learned a few things from this challenge!  If you're intimidated by bright colors as I was- watercolor them!  It makes the way less intimidating!  Adding random pops of bright color really helps draw attention to different details.

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Celebrate!

Hello there stampers!  Today was a fun day!  Ok- so not all of it was fun as I had to work for the majority of it- BUT I did get my preorder from the upcoming 2020-2021 Stampin' UP! Catalog.  Being a demonstrator definitely has it's perks!
Even though I'm not sharing any projects created with my new goodies- I do still have a super cute card!  It was created using the Birthday Buddies Stamp Set and coordinating Bonanza Dies.

This recessed panel card was simple to create! Simply cut your card stock using the dimensions below:

Whisper White cardstock base is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 /12″
One Whisper White panel is cut 1″ x 5 1/4″ (this panel is on the left side)
One Whisper White panel is cut 2″ x 5 1/4″ (this panel is on the right side)
Designer Paper is cut 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

I wanted the banners to completely cover the front of the card- so I simply die cut two and pieced them together.  The little Assorted PomPoms are a perfect fit on the banner.

I'm not sure about you but I'm super sad that this set is retiring.  It's the cutest!
The little birthday banners, the presents, the animal shapes- all of it!  I just love it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Here's a SNEAK PEEK of my new goodies!

Creation Station: Mad As A Hatter Mash Up

Good morning stampin' friends!  It's a Mad As A Hatter Mash Up day for Creation Station.  For this challenge- we are creating projects that use stamps, dies, papers in an unexpected manner or we could use an outlandish color combination.

As you can see from my card- I chose an outlandish color combination.  My inspiration came from this picture below.

I chose the following colors:  Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Gray Granite.  It's not really my favorite color combination- but it was perfect for this challenge!

I began by stamping several images from the Peaceful Poppies Stamp Set onto a piece of Shimmer White Card Stock.   I then watercolored each using an Aqua Painter and added flecks of color by using the Rich Razzleberry and Basic Gray Stampin' Write Markers.

The die cut image was cut directly into the card using the Poppy Moments Dies.  The sentiment rests upon a stitched label that was cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Hello Friend is from the Seriously The Best Stamp Set and I'm so sad it's retiring!  I love big scripts fonts!  They are so fun!

I hope you enjoyed my project!  Thanks for stopping by!  Won't you take a moment and join us on the next stop in the hop?  Up next is the lovely Julie Beltramo
