Love you so

Happy Friday!!!
The weekend is almost here!  I'm ready!  Are you?  I'm certainly not looking forward to the snow storm that's on it's way!  Hoping it doesn't interfere with our Super Bowl party plans!

My card to share with you today is a 4 1/4" square card and you guessed it!  It's another Valentine.  I'm not sure why but I LOVE making Valentines.  Maybe it's because when I think of Valentine's Day- I think of things that are beautiful.  I like to create beautiful things- whether it be a home decor piece, a scrapbook page, or a card.  Speaking of scrapbooking- I have several pages to share with you in the upcoming weeks! So I hope you'll keep stopping by to check them out!
It's back to work for me!  I hope you enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend!
Happy Stampin'!

Love...Sale-A-Bration style!

Good morning!
Can you believe that yesterday was the first official day of Sale-a-Bration?  It's truly the most wonderful time of the year for Stampin' Up! customers, hosts/hostesses, and demos.  During Sale-a-Bration for every $50 in product purchased- you get to choose 1 FREE exclusive product!  Can you say AWESOME?  My wishlist is a mile long!  How about yours?
Today I have a Valentine's Day card that was created using several Sale-a-Bration products.  It's another clean and simple card but it's still elegant!

For the background- I used the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  This embossing folder is exclusive to the Sale-a-Bration catalog!  The little love banner was created using the Banner Blast stamp set and coordinating punch.  Both of these items are also available in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I love how the card turned out.  So sweet!

Still don't have a Sale-a-Bration catalog?  Send me an email and let me know!  I'm happy to get one in the mail to you!  As always- my Stampin' Up! store is open!  Shop with me 24/7!  Simply click the button on the right sidebar to shop with me!

Cheer up buttercup!

Hello there!
How are you all today?  Staying warm I hope!  We are on snow day #4.  Yes I know it's only Wednesday but I'm counting last Friday as well.  I don't think I can ever remember having so many snow days in one school year.  Oh well.  At least I don't have to go outside now!
Today's card is a CASE from Pinterest.  The original card was created by Amy Sheffer.  My card is no where near as beautiful as hers.  She used a much different color scheme and floral DSP.  I chose to use the Kaleidoscope DSP and the Geometrical Stamp set from the Occasions Mini.  I love the sentiment- it's fun!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock::  Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP:  Kaleidoscope

Good thoughts

Good morning!
Did you all survive Monday?  I'm so happy that it's finally over. What a busy day!  It's super cold here again as it is in much of the country.  No school today or tomorrow!  I'm beginning to wonder if my son even remembers what a full week of school feels like!  I must admit that I'm getting a little spoiled by not having to be up at 6 AM every weekday.  Looks like a stay in my jammies and craft kinda day!

I have a clean and simple card to share with you today.  I figured I'd mix it up a bit since I was asked if I still make plain cards.  Oops!  Sometimes I just can't help but get carried away and I embellish my cards to my heart's content!  I tend to forget that people are different and not everyone appreciates fancy cards.  So I apologize if you're one who likes to keep it clean and simple....I will try to remember next time!

Starburst Sayings

Good morning!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  I spent the majority of mine painting.  I have one wall in my kitchen that is the perfect size for a chalkboard.  So instead of just buying a chalkboard I decided to be adventurous and paint the entire wall with chalkboard paint.  SO fun!!!  Unfortunately I can't share pictures of it yet as the paint has to cure for 3 full days before I can draw/write on it.  It's no fun just to see a black wall!  I'm happy that it will be ready in time for our Super Bowl party!  Looking forward to drawing some fun things!
Since I was in the mood to paint- I thought it was a great idea to touch up some walls where there were fingerprints, smudges and other various blemishes.  Well what I didn't anticipate was the fact that pretty much the entire main level of my home needed paint.  Needless to say- I ran out of paint and now I'm too exhausted to finish!  Oh well, tomorrow's another day!  It's going to be done just in time for our party!
I did take some time off from painting to create a card to share.  This card was created using the Starburst Sayings stamp set.  My favorite set in the Occasions Mini!  I used the Triple Time Stamping technique and this is what I came up with:

Nothing too fancy but definitely fun!  I'm truly addicted to sewing on my cards!  I recently had a few email questions on what type of sewing machine I use.  I personally have the Janome Sew Mini and I LOVE it!  It's a small machine BUT it works perfectly!  It's even fabulous for an actual sewing project (other than paper crafting).
Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Valentine

Good morning!
Today I have another Valentine to share with you.  This card was created using the Label Card Thinlits Die. I used the Fresh Prints DSP stack for my layers.  For the little banners- I also used the Fresh Prints DSP stack as well as the Gold Embossed Vellum from the Occasions Catalog.   When the card is closed- it looks like this:

As you can see from the picture- this is not your typical card created with the Label Card Thinlits Die.  I have added an extra panel on the right hand side and an oval closure so that the card opens up differently. The white button used to be cream colored but I used my Versamark ink pad and White embossing powder to give the button a new look.  Now it matches my card perfectly!

Here is the inside of the card:

I love creating little banners inside cards.  It makes a fun surprise!  On my banner there are arrows, hearts and xoxo.  The I Freakin' Love You sentiment from the Yippee Skippee stamp set was stamped in Real Red ink onto a Tea Lace Paper Doilie.  I know on the front panel of the card- you can see 3 sequins.  They have been removed so they are not listed in the supplies list.  I changed my mind after I had taken the picture.
Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend!

Hip Notes

Happy Friday!!!
I am so glad it's the weekend!  I'm going to need to rest up as I have a LOT of work to do next week! Every year my husband and I host a Super Bowl party and this year is no different!  We usually have a LOT of people here so I'll be busy deep cleaning next week.  I'm always paranoid that my house will be messy/dirty and that freaks me out.  I'm sure I'll be a basket case for most of the week!  No worries about stamping though.  I always make time for that!

Speaking of stamping- today's card is a Valentine and I adore this card!  It was created using the Language of Love and Hip Notes stamp sets.  I'm sure there's a few of you scratching your heads wondering why I use so much black, red, and white on my Valentines.  I do it simply because I love how those three colors look together.  Elegant, fun and beautiful!

There is a lot of different textures and elements on this page.  Not all of them are visible from the picture but if you look real close you might just find some!  I did emboss the heart this banner and the stamped white heart.  I wish that showed up in the picture but it does not. I also made sure to make my sewing as straight as possible on this card.  My hubby told me the other day that I needed to work on my sewing skills as the sewing on my last Valentine was wonky.  Little does he know that I MEANT to do that!  (seriously!)

Thanks for stopping by today and stay warm!  It's very very cold here!

Hello, you

Good morning!
Instead of bombarding you with tons and tons of Valentine's Day ideas I thought I would take a little break and show you a card I created with a stamp set that I bought months ago and never used.  Who does that, right?  Me I guess!
I'm not quite sure why I waited to long to use this set.  It's not that I don't like it (because if that were the case- I never would've bought it).  I just don't think I really knew what to do with it.  I love flowers- just not a huge fan of flower stamps and since this set is called Regarding Dahlias you can kinda see where I'm going. Now that I finally got the set out and played around with it- I LOVE it!  I have made several different cards- for several different occasions.  Who knew?  Sometimes I surprise myself!

This card isn't overly fancy but I like it just as it is!  I originally had it all decked out but it just didn't look as good to me as the simpler version.  I hope you enjoy!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango
DSP:  Watercolor Wonder
Stamps:  Regarding Dahlias
Inks:  Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo

Teeny Tiny Wishes

Hi there!
I'm not sure what the weather is like everywhere else- but it's well below zero here in good old Michigan. I've said it before and I'll say it again- I'm not a fan of cold weather.  Especially when it's about -14 out! The only thing good about cold weather is that it makes for great crafting!  Thankfully there isn't any more snow accompanying this bitter cold or I might not leave my house for days!

Yesterday I mentioned that I had a few more Valentines Day ideas to share with you.  The card I'm sharing today features the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  LOVE this set as there are sentiments for just about every occasion!  Makes purchasing this stamp set a great investment!

Can you tell I've been on a bit of a Modern Medley DSP kick lately?  I think sometimes as a demo- I get wrapped up in the "new" stuff and tend to forget about what's in Stampin' Up!'s amazing full length catalog. Modern Medley is probably my favorite DSP.  Why you ask?  Well because not only does it have fabulous patterns but it also has my favorite colors!  Can't go wrong!

Thanks for stopping by and stay warm!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Red Glimmer Paper
DSP:  Modern Medley

Since the Valentine's Day holiday is rapidly approaching I wanted to share another card that I created for this special day.  I used the Loving Thoughts stamp set from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  I haven't used this set much and I'm not sure why.  The font is simply beautiful and I truly love using it! It definitely makes for an elegant looking card!

Are you busy creating Valentines?  Need more ideas?  I'll be sharing several other Valentine's Day designs over the next few days!
Thank you for stopping by!  Enjoy your Tuesday!

Monday Montage....Valentine's Day style!

Hello there and welcome back for the bi-weekly Monday Montage blog hop.  You should have arrived here from the wonderful Cathy Casey's blog.  If not and I'm your first stop- no worries!  Simply use the back/next buttons at the bottom of this post to navigate your way around the hop.  Trust me- you won't be disappointed!

Earlier in the week I shared that I had created 150 roses from the amazing new Spiral Flower Die.  Well- for this project I ended up needing almost 175 so back to work I went!
This is what the flowers look like when they are first cut from the Spiral Flower die.

Once all the flowers were cut- I began to roll them up and turn them into beautiful roses!  This was a somewhat lengthy process.  Obviously it would be much quicker to make just a few roses but my project needed lots and lots.

A 9" white styrofoam heart form was my base.  At the top center point of the heart form, I attached a 16" piece of 5/8" White Organza Ribbon with straight pins.  This will be how I hang the wreath.  I then began to glue the roses to the heart form.  Since some roses were rolled tighter than others, it was necessary to glue some closer together than others.  Otherwise the white on the form would show through.  This is the end result of the heart wreath:

I wanted to make this project into a larger home decor piece than just the 9" heart. So shopping I went! While out and about- I came across an 18" square chalkboard with a tin frame.  LOVED it...so of course I bought it!  When I got it home- I took a white piece of chalk and colored the entire chalkboard with chalk.  I then took a rag and wiped off the chalk to give the chalkboard a "used" look.  Next, I hung the heart over the center of the chalkboard and adhered the ribbons with some hot glue.
Here is the side view of the chalkboard with the heart attached.
Isn't it beautiful?  I LOVE it and can't wait to hang it up!  The question now is where shall I hang it?  I'm thinking in the foyer!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my project!  Please clock the next button below to visit the amazing Dara Gloden!  I know she has something fabulous in store!

Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Real Red
Tools/other supplies:  Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot, Spiral Flower Die, Bone Folder, hot glue gun, hot glue sticks, white styrofoam heart form, 5/8" White Organza Ribbon, straight pins, tin framed chalkboard

Good morning!
Yesterday while browsing through Pinterest I kept seeing cards made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge so I figured I'd head over there and see what the buzz was all about.  Let me say that I love the layout for the challenge this week!  I too decided to play along!  My card is pretty plain and simple but I love it!  It was fun to create and I know just the person to receive it!

Here is a close up of the heart.  I used Real Red Core'dinations card stock embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  Then I wrapped Linen Thread around the heart and added a Mini Clothes Pin from the Tag A Bag Accessory kit.

That's it!  Nothing too fancy!  Would you like to play along too?  Head over to the Freshly Made Sketches site and join in the fun!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Friday!
I hope you have all had a wonderful week! This week is actually the first week my son has been back to school since Christmas.  The weather here in Michigan didn't want to cooperate last week and it was so bitter cold.  Needless to say- we were pretty much stuck inside thanks to the icy conditions!  Now that it's warmed up a bit- school is back on and I've been creating up a storm!

The card I have to share today is a birthday card.  My card inspiration comes from Gayle Wheeler.  I came across her card on Pinterest a few weeks ago.  I thought it was super cute and wanted to try one of my own!

For this card- I used a Bermuda Bay base layered with Raspberry Ripple and some Birthday Basics DSP.  Using the Perfect Pennants Bigz XL die- I cut a hat.  The hat was embossed using the Alphabet Letterpress embossing folder.  The Large Scallop framellit was used to add the balloons border to the hat.  The pom-pom is made with the twine in the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit (available 1/28).  Isn't it adorable?
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Sweet Sorbet

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous week!  I've been busy, busy, busy creating new things to share with you!  Yesterday I said that I had made 150 spiral roses.  Well today- my fingers are feeling it!  I have burned, cut, and worked my poor fingers to death.  I guess it's not a labor of love without a little pain!

Today I have a card to share with you.  The colors aren't ones that I typically work with so as far as color scheme goes- it's a little out of my comfort zone!   I wasn't sure if I liked it at first but I think it's growing on me!

On this card, I used the new Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Sweet Sorbet DSP, and the Sweet Sorbet Accessory kit from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I am really loving the Sweet Sorbet Accessory kit.  The Summer Starfruit, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pool Party Twine are amazing.  This twine is a tad bit thicker than the regular bakers twine so I think it's much easier to tie.

Still don't have a new Occasions Catalog or the Sale-a-Bration Flyer?  Please send me an email and I will be happy to put one in the mail for you!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Pool Party
DSP:  Sweet Sorbet
Stamps:  Starburst Sayings
Inks:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party
Tools/other supplies:  Stampin' Trimmer, Bone Folder, Big Shot, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Starburst Framelits, Paper Snips, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sweet Sorbet Accessory kit (Summer Starfruit twine)

Top Secret!

Good morning!
Boy oh boy have I been busy!  So far today I have made over 150 paper roses using the brand new Spiral Flower die.  I'm not sharing pictures of what I'm working on just yet....it's for the upcoming Monday Montage blog hop.  Wanna know what it is?  You'll need to check back Sunday night at 9:00pm EST to see find out!  Any guesses?

So what exactly is the Spiral Flower die?  It's a die that is used with the Big Shot.  It cuts 3-4 pieces of card stock at once and this is what it looks like when cut out:

After the card stock is cut out- I use a bone folder to break down the fibers in the paper just a little bit.  This also helps the flower form.  Start at the smallest outer edge of the spiral and roll it up!  The end result is a beautiful paper flower rose!  Unfortunately I can't share a picture of that either as I've already glued them down and if I shared- well then the project would no longer be a secret!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I can't wait to share with you on Sunday!

Make a wish...

Happy Monday!
Today's card features the sentiment Make a Wish from the Perfect Pennants stamp set.  For my color scheme- I paired Midnight Muse with Crushed Curry.  Love it!  It's not overly fancy but it is still cute!  Plus sometimes- less is more!

The little banners were created using the Banner Blast stamp set and the Mini Banner Punch.  Using Stampin' Dimensionals- I attached them to a tiny piece of Gold Baker's Twine (which can be found in the Occasions Mini).
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!

Old faithful

Good morning!
Are you enjoying your weekend?  I sure am!  Yes, it's been raining in Michigan pretty much all weekend long BUT at least it's in the 40's and not below zero!  I'll be happy when Spring arrives to say the least!

Today I have another card to share with you.  It's not really fancy.  It's just a layout that I love to use!  It's definitely old faithful!

The little banners on this card were created using the Banner Blast stamp set and the Mini Banner punch from the upcoming Sale-a-bration brochure.  The sentiment- love you so is from the new Geometrical stamp set from 2014 Occasions Mini catalog.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White
DSP:  Fresh Prints DSP stack
Stamps:  Geometrical, Banner Blast

Things that make ya go hmm...

Good morning!
Yesterday I shared a Retro Fresh card that I made to look like a spinner from a board game.  I shared the card on a few other websites and someone had asked me if it was supposed to be a record.  That got me thinking...

...and this is what I came up with!  A record player playing an album!

Where did I get the lightning bolt idea?  My hubby is a huge Pearl Jam fan and he collects vinyl so I figured why not? (Lightning Bolt is Pearl Jam's new album)  Now- his birthday isn't until April but he and I have a ton of fellow Pearl Jam fan friends and I'm sure one of them has a birthday coming up soon!

Instead of using a stamp, my image was created in MDS2.  I love that MDS2 is so versatile.  The possibilities really are endless!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Silver Foil sheet
Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks:  Real Red
Tools/other supplies:  Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Circles Collection Framelits, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, 1/8" Silver Brads, SNAIL, Bitty Banners Framelits, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, ruler, pencil, Stampin' Pierce Mat, MDS2

Retro Fresh

Good morning!
Today is the fifth snow day my son has had this week.  He has been out of school since Dec. 20th when classes were released for the holidays.  We are still trying to dig ourselves out of nasty snow/ice and thanks to the polar vortex- it's been below zero for most of the week with wind chills in the negatives.  I really can't wait for Spring!  (or I just REALLY need to get out of the house)
I hope your week has been better than mine!

Today I have a Retro Fresh themed card to share. I totally adore this color scheme.  It's so fun!  I attached the heart to the little wooden arrow with a brad to give the effect of a spinner.  I love that the new Essentials Wooden Elements are thin enough for the Paper Piercing Tool to go through!  The sentiment is from the Geometrical stamp set.

Unfortunately since my brain wasn't functioning the day I placed my preorder- I didn't order any Baked Brown Sugar card stock.  Soft Suede was used on this card and I actually think it matches pretty well!  Note to self:  order Baked Brown Sugar card stock!
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!
Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Coastal Cabana, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron
DSP:  Retro Fresh
Stamps:  Geometrical
Inks:  Soft Suede
Tools/other supplies:  Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot, Circles Collection Framelits, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Small Heart Punch, Essentials Wooden Elements, 1/8" Silver Brads, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Paper Piercing Tool

An old hobby...

Have you ever had a hobby that you loved but for some reason or another- you gave it up?  That's me when it comes to flowers/floral arrangements.  As I've mentioned before- I used to create dried floral arrangements for a living.  I gave it up several years ago for various reasons but my love of flowers and creating floral arrangements will always be with me!  That's why I was super excited to see the Spiral Flower Die in the new 2014 Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up!

Using the new Spiral Flower Die, I was able to create this adorable mini flower arrangement in about 20 minutes.  The most time consuming part was cutting the strips of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock for the vase filler.  To make the flowers- I used the Spiral Flower die and the Big Shot. I was able to cut all 4 flowers at once thus saving time!  I then used my Bone Folder to break down the fibers in the DSP a little bit.  This process also helps the flower roll easier.  Once the flowers were rolled up- I adhered them together using hot glue.  A tiny floral wire was inserted through a hole in the bottom of the flower (I used my Paper Piercing tool to put a hole for the wire).  It's as simple as that!

Did you notice the DSP and the Twine used to create this arrangement?  They are both SNEAK PEEKS from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration flyer.  The DSP is called Sweet Sorbet and the Twine is from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack.

Have you received your copy of the 2014 Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration flyer yet?  If not- please send me an email and I will send one out to you!  I am hosting a Occasions Catalog party on January 28th at 6pm.  I chose this day because it's also the first day of Sale-a-Bration.  Please RSVP so I know how many people to plan for.

Thanks for stopping by today!

An adorable mini camper

Good morning!
A few days ago while making the rounds on my daily blog hop, I came across the absolute most adorable little camper! I'm not usually one for this type of decoration but this was just too stinkin' cute and I HAD to make one for myself!  I just couldn't resist!  As you can see from the picture- the mini camper is absolutely adorable!

I'm sure you're wondering where I found the tutorial to create this adorable little piece of paper goodness.  It was purchased from Erica Cerwin.  Click here to go to her blog.  The tutorial is called Whole Lotta Love Project Planner.  The planner comes with 15 different tutorials all of which are super cute!

Since this was a paid tutorial- I don't feel comfortable sharing the materials used to create the camper.  Some supplies are obvious but others are not.
Thank you for stopping by today!

You & Me Mojo327

Good evening!
Since I hadn't really been stamping a lot due to the holidays, vacation and technical issues I wanted to start of the New Year by using a sketch challenge.  Mojo Monday never lets me down!  I love this week's sketch. It's perfect for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday!

It's kinda hard to tell from the picture, but the larger heart is 3-D.  I punched 3 hearts out, folded 2 of the hearts in half and adhered them to the third heart. Since there is no Valentine's Day themed DSP this year- I used the new Fresh Prints DSP stack.  The Gold Sequin Trim is one of my new favorites!  So pretty!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
DSP:  Fresh Prints DSP Stack
Stamps:  Perfect Pennants, Language of Love
Inks:  Crumb Cake, Real Red, Coastal Cabana
Tools/other supplies:  Stampin' Trimmer, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, SNAIL, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Big Shot, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Gold Sequin Trim

Monday Montage is back!

Good evening!  Welcome back for another edition of Monday Montage! Now that the holidays are over- we will resume our normal blog hopping schedule!
As you may have noticed over the last few weeks- I haven't been updating my blog as much as I normally do.  I am pleased to announce that I am back on my normal blogging/newsletter schedule as of tonight!

My card today features my favorite set from the new 2014 Occasions Catalog.  The stamp set is called Starburst Sayings and it even has a matching Starburst Framelit set!   I love the Oh, Happy Day stamp!  It's such a fun sentiment!  Perfect for celebrating many different occasions!

Since Stampin' Up! has released the new Occasions catalog, I figured I should share as much new product on this card as I could! The embossed arrow background was created with the new Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Starburst with the arrows is made from the brand new DSP called Retro Fresh.  This package of DSP is FULL of fun patterns!  Arrows, stripes and much much more!  Definitely a must have from the brand new Occasions catalog!

Thanks for stopping by tonight and I hope that you will follow the hop all the way around!  Just click on the Next arrow to go to the fabulous Dara Gloden's page or hit the back button to visit the fabulous Cathy Casey's page.
