Monday Montage #44

Hello there and welcome back for the bi-weekly Monday Montage blog hop.  I'm happy you've joined us!  Did you arrive here from Cathy's blog?  If not- be sure to use the BACK button at the bottom of this post to see her awesome project!

Tonight's project is an altered mini treat bag created with my favorite die- the Mini Treat Bag.  This bag is so easy to create! The gusseted sides make it just the right size for a small gift! I love making these little bags for all occasions!  Thankfully the set of dies made it into the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog!  I'd have to throw a temper tantrum if they didn't!

The Sprinkles of Life set from the new 2015-2016 Annual Catalog is the perfect addition to this adorable little bag.  The coordinating Tree Builder punch makes the perfect ice cream (or cloud)!  It's dual purpose!   My image may LOOK like an ice cream cone but it's really a cupcake in disguise!  When I was a little girl- my mom always made my sisters and I cupcakes in ice cream cones.  I couldn't resist creating one of my own!

Mixed Media Fun!

Do you love cards with texture?  Are you tired of using embossing folders as the only way to show texture?  If you answered yes- then I have the answer for YOU!  Two words.  Modeling paste.  I LOVE this stuff!  Not only is it easy to tint with a reinker but it adds the perfect amount of texture to your cards and scrapbook pages.
The card below was created using modeling paste that was tinted with a Pool Party reinker.  If you decided to try this yourself- I suggest starting out with only a few drops of reinker at first.  Then after it's all mixed in you can decide if you want more color.

The texture isn't the only thing I love about this card.  The color scheme is just gorgeous!  I wasn't sure about putting Blushing Bride with Calypso Coral, Pool Party, So Saffron and Crumb Cake but it really works well!  As for the button- it's actually one of the large buttons from the Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons.  I just used the plain white backside instead of the patterned front.
Thanks for stopping by!

Adventure Awaits...

Have you ever purchased something only to forget what you actually bought it for?  That's exactly what I did with the Adventure Awaits stamp set.  I'm pretty sure I bought it for the "The Adventure Begins" stamp but interestingly enough I have never used that particular stamp!  Instead- I have fallen in love with the Choose The Road Less Traveled stamp!

Yesterday I shared a post with a color scheme that I had found on Pinterest and since I liked it so much I figured I'd try it out again!  Yep- that's right!  I used my Acrylic Block as a stamp for my background! (again) LOVE this fun technique!  Unfortunately I see I didn't photograph this card very well.  "The Road" is barely visible in the picture.  It's definitely not that difficult to see it in person.

As for the rest of the Adventure Awaits stamps set- I'm happy to say that I have finally remembered just why I bought this set!  It's PERFECT for scrapbooking!  Especially "The Adventure Begins" sentiment.  So fitting and perfect for the cover of my new Project Life scrapbook!

Four You...

Good evening!  Raise your hand if you're addicted to Pinterest!  (Yes... my hand is held high!)   So during one of my many hours long sessions browsing Pinterest, I came along a color scheme that I just couldn't resist!  The color scheme comprised of Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Pool Party, and Crushed Curry.
Not a color scheme that I personally would have thought of but I figured what the heck- why not give it a try!

...and am I ever glad that I did!  I LOVE these 4 colors together!  For the main image- I inked up my acrylic block half with Crushed Curry and the other half with Pool Party.  Then I spritzed water on a piece of Watercolor paper and onto the inked acrylic block.  Next, I stamped the block onto the Watercolor paper and BAM!  I had a beautifully watercolored image!  Using the 2" Circle Punch I punched a circle from my watercolor image and stamped it with hello.
Such a fun card!

Who wants to see some new In-Colors?

Hello there!  Are you ready to see another sneak peek?  This time I have a few of the new In-Colors to share with you!  You are going to LOVE these bright beautiful colors!  They are so fun!  I have chosen to use Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon and Tip Top Taupe.  Such a lovely color combination!

See that gorgeous fringe circle?  That was made using the brand new Cotton Paper Assortment.  I LOVE this new paper!  Its texture is somewhat like tissue paper but much shinier and just a tad bit thicker.  Definitely a fun item to embellish your projects with!
For the picture below- I wanted to show the side view of the card.  The flower itself is dimensional.  Not a huge section but a smaller portion in the front.  I like this look because it makes the flower look realistic.
I hope you have enjoyed a sneak peek of the new In-Colors!  Thanks for stopping by!

Who doesn't love surprises?

Who doesn't love surprises?  Anyone?  Tonight I have not one but two fabulous projects to share with you! Both of them featuring the brand new Bohemian DSP and the Bohemian Borders stamp set.  I so love the bold and bright patterns and colors in this new DSP!  SO excited for June 2nd to roll around so you can order as well!  There are so many new products that I know you will LOVE!

Project number one tonight is an adorable purse that is the perfect size to hold a standard A2 size card.  Now I'm not the original creator of this little purse- I got the idea from my Inking Everything team mate Raquelle (who got the idea from someone else).  Isn't it stinkin' adorable?

These little purses are so easy to make and are super sweet!  I made several of these little purses as my Thank You gift to my customers this month.  I hope the lucky recipients love them!

My second project is a coordinating card to go along with the adorable purse.  This card features not only the new Bohemian Borders stamp set but also the new Bohemian Washi Tape.  LOVE that Bermuda Bay/Island Indigo strip in the middle!

And here they are!  Both together....

Sniff Sniff...

Who else besides me is sad to see the beautiful Regarding Dahlias stamp set retire? (raise your hand, please!)  I typically don't use a lot of floral sets but there's just something about this set that caught my eye. I'm not sure if it's the awesome dahlia or the fun sentiments that come along with it but I do know that I'll be sad to see it go!

Since I typically do not keep my stamp sets that have retired, I wanted to find a way that I could still hold onto my favorite floral image.  So here you have it!  I chose to create a set of coasters!

I'm only sharing one coaster as it's all I have 100% completed.  The others have been stamped and are anxiously awaiting the burning process.  Yes- you heard me right.  I'm burning my coasters.  This process isn't difficult but it is extremely time consuming as there's a lot of little detail throughout the stamp.  If you attempt to make your own- I strongly advise against holding your tool in one particular place too long.  (Don't ask me how I know. HA!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Psst....Over here! Sneak Peek!

Hello there!  Tonight I am SOOOO excited to share a SNEAK PEEK from the upcoming 2015 Annual Catalog.  Being a Stampin' Up! Demo definitely has it's perks!  As a demo were able to preorder select products from the upcoming annual catalog on May 5th.  Since I'm worse than a kid waiting for Santa to arrive- I had my preorder overnighted!  What can I say?  Patience has never been my strong suit!

For my sneak peek- I've chosen to use the brand new "You've Got This" stamp set paired with my new favorite In-Color Mint Macron.  This color is beautiful!

You can't really tell from the picture above- but I've used a new technique!  Ok....so it's probably not a new technique but it's new to me!  I have always been a huge fan of images with foil.  Since I don't own a laser printer making my own images with foil was pretty much a no go.  Until......I found a tutorial on Pinterest!  Instead of using a laser printer to create my image- I stamped the background stamp from the You've Got This stamp set in Versamark ink onto Whisper White card stock.  I then applied a tiny bit of laser toner....patted it onto the image and brushed away the excess.  Next I placed a piece of gold foil onto the image and sent it through the laminator.  Then VIOLA!  A beautiful gold foil background!

I'm gonna be honest here and tell you that if you plan on trying this technique- you must and I repeat MUST use the Embossing Buddy and go over your card stock several times before stamping the image.  Without this step- the toner literally sticks to every possible space on the card stock thus making it next to impossible to remove all the excess toner.

Well that's it for tonight!  I hope you've enjoyed my beautiful card!  Be sure to keep checking back!  I have lots of new products to share with you!  Looking to place an order?  Click the SHOP WITH ME button on the right side bar to visit my store!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stampin'!

Every year around this time the Stampin' Up! retired list comes out.  Some welcome this event with open arms and others dread it.  I personally am sad to be losing some of my favorite products!  (secretly the retired list is code for it's time to stock up!)  My project tonight features one of my favorite retiring products- the Kraft Grid Journals. These sweet little books are great for everything (and I do mean everything!).
Mini scrapbooks, date books, address books, random notes, a quote book (kids sure do say some funny things) and the list goes on!  Whatever you choose to do with your little book- is completely up to you!  Decorate it, draw on it, junk it up but make it your own!  These little beauties are only around while supplies last!
