Hello stampin' friends! Thank you for joining us for the Monday Montage Blog hop where today I'm featuring the fabulous Gingerbread Dies. These dies have a little bit of everything! Shapes for cookies, peppermints, snowflakes and more!
To begin- I created a stencil out of a Poppy Parade Card Stock scrap that measured 3" x 4-1/4" and the "peppermint swirl" dies. There are 3 different sizes of the peppermint swirls: small, medium and large.
I cut a variety of each randomly until the stencil was completely filled in with swirls.
I then centered the stencil on top of a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Basic White Card Stock and secured temporarily with a few post-it notes. Next comes the fun part! Using a Palette Knife I carefully applied a thin layer of Shimmery White Embossing Paste making sure to cover all peppermint swirls. After the embossing paste was applied I quickly removed the stencil.
Once the embossing paste was dry- I began adhering each individual Poppy Parade peppermint swirl to the open portion of each embossing paste swirl. I adhered them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue but it would have been much easier to just use the Adhesive Sheets!
The sentiment tag was created using the Seasonal Labels Dies, Give It A Whirl Dies, Gingerbread Dies and Layering Circles Dies. (The scalloped circle is from the Give It A Whirl Dies) The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a Basic White Scrap and cut out with the Layering Circles Dies.
To add the finishing touches- I created a simple bow using the Silver Simply Elegant Trim. Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the center of each peppermint to add interest.
