OSAT Blog Hop- Lay it Out

Hey there stampers! Welcome back for another fabulous One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop!  This month our theme is Lay it Out.  We will all have a gorgeous scrapbook layout to share with you as well as another project.

The first project I have to share with you is my scrapbook page.  It's a traditional 12" x 12" page with lots of fun elements.  As I was flipping through photos trying to decide on what I would choose I came across one of my daughter Amanda's senior pictures.  This picture is absolutely perfect to pair with the Garden Impressions 6" x 6" DSP.

As you can see in the picture above Amanda is wearing a scarf that has a lot of the same colors as the Garden Impressions DSP.  To create this page- I first began by using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks, the Palette Knives and the Shimmery White Embossing Paste.  After the Embossing Paste was dry- I re-applied the stencil and used a Sponge Dauber with So Saffron ink to give the Embossing Paste some color.

To create the butterfly- I used the Springtime Impressions Thinlits and the Garden Impressions DSP to cut out 4 butterflies.  Each butterfly was layered onto the next using Multipurpose Liquid Glue except for the very top butterfly.  It was adhered to the butterfly stack using a Foam Strip.  Each wing was then folded towards the center to create a 3 Dimensional look.

The above picture shows a close up of the texture paste at the top right side of the page.  So pretty!

The Springtime Impressions Thinlits comes with 3 shapes.  A butterfly, a floral corner piece and a flower.  I used the floral corner piece to layer on top of the Embossing Paste in the bottom left corner of the page.  As the sheet of DSP I chose to use was Melon Mambo and Powder Pink- I wanted the corner piece to coordinate.  So Powder Pink it was!

Did you know that the new Pearlized Doilies are double sided?  The top has a pearlized finish and the backside has the texture of regular paper.  The texture on the backside makes coloring the doily easy peasy!  Here mine has been sponged with So Saffron Ink to coordinate with the rest of the page.

My next project is this gorgeous card that was also created using the Garden Impressions Suite only this time I focused on the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies and the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set.

Abstract Impressions is quickly becoming one of my go-to sets.  The floral images and the sentiments are amazing ❤  I wanted to create a card that was bold and bright and I think this fits the bill nicely!  It's got a lot of Melon Mambo as well as Soft Sea Foam to tone it down just a little bit.  The Shaded Spruce ink really makes the images pop!

Have you tried out the new Big Shot Embossing Mats?  They make the best impressions without cutting through your card stock!  You can see what I mean in the close up above.  I used the floral corner piece to create texture and dimension to the card layer.

The Metallics Sequin Assortment has iridescent sequins which really look pretty with the Melon Mambo Card Stock.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects for today!
